Meet Scott Bowen
Scott Bowen is a true product of CCISD schools, having attended and graduated from Ward Elementary, Webster Intermediate, and Clear Lake High School. He and his five siblings participated in the WAVE program for gifted and talented students. Scott went on to graduate from Texas A&M and returned to the area to make a home and career as a chemical engineer, later receiving a Master’s degree from Rice University. He is a member of Clear Lake Baptist Church, an Eagle Scout, and an avid runner.
Scott’s engineering background, analytical skills, and conservative Republican values made him an ideal choice to serve on the CCISD Board of Trustees. Since his election in 2019, Scott has worked to bring more accountability and transparency to Clear Creek ISD. He opposed mask mandates and delays to reopening in-person education, introduced and passed the first ban on critical race theory (CRT) adopted by any district in Texas, successfully fought against unnecessary bonds and spending, and has resisted efforts to lower academic standards. He has served on the School Safety and Security Committee since 2023 and was part of hiring Dr. Karen Engle as our Superintendent.
Scott also works closely with our legislators to ensure our district’s needs and values are represented in state government. Scott has been endorsed for re-election by our local Republican State Representatives Dennis Paul and Terri Leo Wilson, and our State Senator Mayes Middleton.
Scott cares deeply about our schools, the children and parents they serve, and the teachers and staff who make them great. If re-elected, he will continue to use his skills and experience to protect and expand our world-class programs, maintain high standards of academics and discipline, keep children safe, and ensure the values of our community continue to be represented.
